Rachel Brown
Rachel grew up in Norman, Oklahoma, where she spent much of her time outdoors. Her artwork is strongly influenced by the open skies and expansive plains of Oklahoma and Kansas where she spent time with family and nature.. She studied studio art and history both at Oklahoma City University and at the University of Oklahoma where she graduated with her BFA in 2018. Rachel's most influential professor and friend, Don Longcrier, pushed her to use whatever materials and techniques helped her express her visual ideas best and to be brave in that expression. She works in a variety of ways, including painting, printmaking, drawing, and ceramics. In 2022, Rachel and her husband Barry, moved to Gallup, New Mexico, where she works as an artist and a teacher.
